Dr. Omar Z. Youssef is a surgical oncologist graduated from Kasr El Aini faculty of medicine, Cairo University, Egypt in 1993. He was appointed as resident of surgical oncology in the national cancer institute (NCI), Cairo University, the oldest and largest cancer center in the Middle East.

He received his master degree in surgery in 1997 and pursuit his training, where he was trained as a fellow of plastic surgery in the department of reconstructive surgery in the European institute of oncology. Then, he worked as a senior resident of surgery in Institut Gustave-Roussy in Paris, France.

He returned back to NCI Cairo to obtain his PhD, and he serves now as a professor of surgical oncology.

His subspecialty is oncoplastic breast surgery, with main research area in locally advanced breast cancer and breast reconstructive surgery. His main activities are teaching and training young surgeons in breast surgery, and he has extended his experience in some African countries.

He has several publications on breast oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery and has been invited and presented talks in these specialties in many international conferences.

He has successfully organized 5 successive workshops in breast oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery in Cairo during the last 4 years in collaboration with the Euro-Arab School of Oncology and a well-known international faculty from UK, France and Italy.

He is a member of many scientific societies, and currently he is the president elect of Breast Surgery International (BSI), an integrated society of the International society of surgery (ISS)

He works also as the scientific coordinator of the Euro Arab School of Oncology, a chapter of the European school of oncology (ESO) and in the editorial board of World Journal of Surgery (WJS)
Dr Houriya Kazim is a UAE national who is the country's first lady surgeon. She attended medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, obtained her fellowship in General Surgery then sub-specialized in Surgical Oncology and, in particular, Breast Surgery and reconstruction at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

She has her own practice in Dubai at the Well Woman Clinic, which she set up in 2006. In addition to her clinical work, she founded and runs the only breast cancer support group in the city called "Brest Friends" and has also founded, and chairs, a breast cancer charity by the same name. She is a freelance writer on women's health issues and is married to an American television journalist. They are parents to two daughters aged 9 and 11 years old.

Michael Douek is a breast cancer surgeon and surgical oncologist with a special interest in novel techniques for cancer surgery and in breast reconstruction. He was awarded a Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015.

He is the chief investigator of a number of trials evaluating a magnetic technique for sentinel node biopsy, which he pioneered. These include National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) trials in breast cancer (SentiMAG Multicentre Trial, MagSNOLL Trial) and in melanoma surgery (MELAMAG Multicentre Trial). He setup the first prospective trial of implant breast reconstruction with acellular dermal matrix (ADM), the POBRAD Trial. He is also one of the pioneers of intra-operative radiotherapy (IORT) for breast cancer and chairs the Association of Breast Surgeons IORT sub-committee.

Michael graduated from the University of Dundee (Scotland) and trained in surgery in London, Oxford and Cambridge. He obtained his MD from the University of London in 2000. In 2003, he was awarded a prestigious Health Foundation Clinician Scientist grant by the UK Academy of Medical Sciences, fully funding his joint Senior Lecturer and Consultant post in breast and general surgery at University College London for 5 years.
Dr. Nita Zaji following graduation from medical university started the Post-graduate specialty in general surgery in 1994 and completed in 1998 in Iran. She is a holder of Medical board diploma in general surgery from Iran. She practiced in Iran as a consultant general surgeon for five years and moved to UAE/ Dubai in 2003. She has been working in Iranian Hospital in Dubai since 2003 up to now.

In 2005 she started to practice laparoscopic surgeries and in 2007 following a completion of laparoscopy training course she received the valuable Diploma in minimal access surgery from world association of laparoscopic surgeons. Now she has a vast experience of doing many kinds of laparoscopic surgeries.

Beside her daily practice as a general surgeon she was also the director of breast clinic in Iranian hospital since 2006 and she has treated thousands of patients in this field. Her advanced education in breast surgeries was in Institute of cancer, Shohada University of medical science, Tehran, Iran in 2011 and following completion of course she received the certificate for authority to perform different kind of breast surgeries. She also past a course considering Oncoplastic techniques of operation for breast cancer” in Milan, Italy.
Dr. Buthainah Al Shunnar, founder and director of Al Shunnar Plastic Surgery clinic in Dubai, UAE is the first and only American Board Certified UAE Female Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Al Shunnar has extensive experience in breast surgery, breast cancer reconstruction, body contouring, aesthetic facial surgery, hand surgery and microsurgery.

After graduating medical college with Honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland in 1991, Dr. Al Shunnar received her five years of general surgery training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C., where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. She then completed her Plastic Surgery Training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

After her training, Dr. Al Shunnar spent three years in York, Pennsylvania as Consultant Plastic Surgeon in private practice, also covering a major trauma center for its reconstructive needs. In addition, she held an academic position at Hershey Medical College where she mentored and taught the residents and fellows. She subsequently returned to the Middle East and took up a position as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center in Abu Dhabi for two years.

In 2005, she established her own clinic in Dubai focusing on both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery as well as anti-aging services, permanent makeup and skin care. She is an active member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons & International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons as well as the John Hopkins Medical & Surgical Association.

Dr. Al Shunnar’s passion is giving back hope and femininity through breast reconstruction procedures for those facing breast cancer as well as body contouring. She has always been on the forefront to adopt new and innovative trends and has published numerous articles in her field. Her work has been presented at national and international plastic surgery conferences.
Dr Ashutosh Kothari is a comprehensive Onco-plastic Breast Surgeon offering all aspects of oncoplastic and implant based surgery including lipomodelling. He is the Clinical Director of Breast Cancer Services at Guys Hospital in London which is one of the largest tertiary referral centres in London and has one of the highest immediate breast reconstruction rates in the UK. He received his training in onco-surgery at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has a special interest in inherited breast cancer, breast cancer in young women, onco-plastic breast surgery and immediate breast reconstruction. He carried out pioneering work in the development of breast duct micro-endoscopy. He is a co-investigator for the recently concluded, only prospective multicentre trial of breast reconstruction using silicone implants and acellular dermal matrices (POBRAD-M). He has a diverse research portfolio and is currently Principal Investigator for two first in man trials using novel intra-operative imaging techniques. He has recently been awarded one of two prestigious international training fellowships in onco-plastic breast surgery at Guys Hospital, by the European Society of Surgical Oncology. He delivers lectures and is an examiner at the Kings College Medical School, London.

Dr. Khalid Balaraj was initially trained in the United Kingdom. He has radiation oncology qualifications from 3 countries - UK (FRCR), Ireland (FFR RCSI) and Canada (FRCPC).

He has done 2 Clinical Fellowships from Canada, in Gynecology Brachytherapy and CNS Stereotactic Radiotherapy.

He has worked as an Assistant Professor in Al Faisal University, Riyadh, as well as Consultant of Radiation Oncology, for 7 years, treating patients on the latest technology, including IMRT, IGRT, Tomotherapy, RapidArc and CyberKnife at King Faisal specialist Hospital, Riyadh.

Dr. Balaraj has treated patients on international RTOG trials.

He has been General Secretary of the Saudi Cancer Society and Oncology Advisor for the CME Oncology Program Middle East.

Currently he is the chairman of Radiation oncology department at Tawam Hospital and assistant professor at UAE University.

Having completed MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, I started training in the UK in 1990. I worked initially as a General Surgeon and now solely practice as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.

I have been a trainer for Sentinel Node Biopsy in the New Start Programme by the RCS and have helped start this service in several hospitals. Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery forms the bulk of my work for both Screen detected and Symptomatic Breast Cancers. I also have an interest in Familial and Elderly Breast Cancers.
